Government First Grade College, Shiralakoppa popularly known as GFGC Shiralakoppa is a First Grade College in Shikaripura Taluk of Shimoga district of Karnataka state. As an affiliated college, this institution has been in existence for more than a decade after being started in 2007. With a vast area of 5 acres of land, GFGC Shiralakoppa was accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for proving quality education. The college currently provides 1 course to the 575 growing learners facilitated by 14 committed faculty members.

Government First Grade College Shiralakoppa possesses some purposeful amenities that contribute the improvement of learning facilities for students. The college facilities include a large library where needed books and journals may be found to support the educational processes. For those with interest in sports and games, the institution avails itself to both indoor and outdoor game amenities. Indoor games include carom, chess and shuttle while students involving in outdoor activities include volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi and ball badminton court. The college also has a well equipped gym for the physically active students and or sportsmen/women. In order to encourage all the academic activities, GFGC Shiralakoppa offers best IT facilities and departmental laboratories. It is noticeably wireless enabled, thus providing easy access to the world wide web to the client – the students and the employees. For the purpose of stay, the college has provided hostel accommodations for both boys and girls separately so as to make the out-station students feel comfortable.

GFGC Shiralakoppa provides a full-time undergraduate programmes to meet the needs of the students. The college currently provides 10 courses across four degree programmes: Such as; Bachelor of Arts (BA), These programmes are meant to help students gain both academic knowledge that they will be required to apply in their future careers. It is unclear as to how many direct seats are available for each programme, but overall student intake capacity of the college is 575.

Therefore, the beginning of the admission process at GFGC Shiralakoppa ststems after the declaration of the II-year PUC results. The admission policies of the college are in conformance with the admitted policies as per Kuvempu University act and rules.
