Government First Grade College Udayapura Hassan, Karnataka was established in the year 2007. This affiliated college which is situated in a 7.3 acre campus provides a number of undergraduate as well post graduate courses. With a total enrollment of 440 students, including 217 male and 275 female students, the college maintains a balanced gender ratio of 1:1.27. The NAAC recognises this institution and the institution has 6 faculty members. Serving the educational need of the public, the college currently offers 5 courses in 4 degree programmes in Arts, Commerce, and Management streams.

The Government First Grade College  has elaborate facilities that help in the learning process of its students: The college boasts tangible infrastructure, to support its students’ learning process. This is one of the academic resources with the collection comprising of 9, 087 books for the students and faculty. For those with passion for games and sports facilities the college has a big playground which is suitable for games like cricket, kho-kho, kabaddi, volley ball, football etc. There is also sound equipped sports room which facilitates the achievement of these exercises. As per the contemporary demands of learning institutions, the college has an enhanced Information Technology learning facilities; the computer learning centre which enables students to search for their course work online and also engage in research.

Government First Grade College, Udayapura is presently offering 5 courses, both at Bachelors and Masters levels of education. Full time undergraduate courses include BA History, Economics and political Science, BA history, Economics and Sociology, B.com and BBA. As a post graduate level, the college offers only M.Com programme. All these courses are intended to equip the students with proper education in their areas of specialisation. The college offers intakes for 440 students in all its programmes showing its goal on offering high quality education to as many students as possible in the region.

The admission requirements for all the courses in Government First Grade College, Udayapura are mainly through entrance examinations. The students are selected on merit with regard to the academic achievements in the qualifying examination.
