Government Girls Polytechnic is technical college for girls situated in Varanasi of Uttar Pradesh which came into existence in the year 1992. An affiliated college which is approved by AICTE provides a number of diploma courses suitable for the prospective female engineers and technicians. 560 students are enroled in the institute, while it has a teaching staff of 12 members which make the learning environment compact. Four diploma courses offered at the polytechnic entail practical knowledge and theoritical knowledge in each of the following fields.

The total student enrolment in all its courses is two hundred and forty although each course has an admitting capacity of sixty students. To achieve this, the ratio of students to faculty is comparatively modest, to foster student-focused teaching techniques. The courses are Diploma in Fashion Design and Garment Technology, Information Technology, Textile Design, and so on.
