About GMC Patiala
Government Medical College, Patiala was established on 29th September, 1953 under the Government of India. All the courses are approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI). GMC Patiala is affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Punjab. The GMC Patiala initially started functioning with an intake of 50 students to MBBS programmes.
The annual intake of students at GMC Patiala has now increased to 150 students to MBBS programmes, 90 students to Postgraduate programmes, 4 students to M.Sc (Biochemistry, Anatomy) programmes, 50 students at GMC Patiala to B.Sc Nursing programmes, 30 students to Post basic B.Sc Nursing, 10 B.Sc Medical (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry) programmes, 11 students to Diploma in Radiographer, 60 students to D.Pharma and more. My college was having all necessary facilities in infrastructure , equipments needed for practice in different labs(rooms) . In my times there were no wifi , smart boards just only blackboards were present.

To clear tiebreaking in test following criteria is considered:
1. Those who have scored good in biology(zoology and botany).
2. Those scoring better marks in chemistry.
3. Students of older age.
50% seats are reserved for government college.
