Government Polytechnic, Bantwal (GPB) is a technical college recognized in the same year 2007 located in the beautiful town of Bantwal of Karnataka state, India. This government owned polytechnic approved by AICTE is spread over a vast area of 6.09 acres offering diploma courses in engineering disciplines . GPB offers a small class sizes because the school takes in 421 students in total and has 21 faculty members. The institute is also recognised by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), which makes the institute, maintain a standard in imparting technical education in accordance with the country. 

Since its establishment, the Government Polytechnic has impressed an array of structures that would further improve the learning atmosphere of any students. In total, Government Polytechnic, Bantwal has four diploma courses, none of which is part time but all are full time such as Diploma in civil engineering and Diploma in mechanical engineering. These courses are intended for different branches of engineering that ensures that the student receives a good background knowledge of the chosen discipline. According to the approved quota, the institute has the total capacity of admitting 240 students in all the courses offered, and the number of students per course is 60. This allows the university to maintain an appropriate population density of students and faculty members so as to facilitate learner centred teaching and learning.
