Government Polytechnic College is in Kupwara was established in the year 2012 in Jammu Kashmir India. This is a technical institution which is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and provide diploma in various fields of engineering. The college is located on an 8 acre campus and currently offers a total intake capacity of 85 students and a faculty strength of 5 members only. Although the college rank information per se has not been presented here, the college vows to produce competent technical professionals for the Kupwara region.

The Government Polytechnic College also has several infrastructures that enable students to study and practice their lessons. The institution is endowed with functional laboratories for various department, where students practice their practical experiences.. As of now, GPC Kupwara extends two full time diploma courses that have a span of three years at the most. The total approved intake for these courses is one hundred and twenty students. The college offers a Diploma in Automobile Engineering for 60 students and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering for 60 students. These programmes are intended to provide the students with necessary professional and academic training in various areas of their interest of automotive and mechanical engineering careers.
