Government Polytechnic College Latehar has all the basic as well as other modern infrastructural facilities that support the educational activities of the students. The college infrastructure has well developed and upgraded ground for various sports so as to maintain a healthy competition besides academics. To support practical application, the institute has provided and organized the departmental laboratories to enhance the practical experience of the students. It appeared that the college library provided all necessary knowledge regarding the college and its academic programmes. Understanding the reality of present day education system, GPC Latehar has adopted very good IT facilities so that students are aware of the advances in technology. Moreover, the college has an arrangement of hostels for boys and girls that makes students from different area to have a conducive place to live.

Institute provides a moderate number of diploma programmes and all diploma programmes are full time degree programmes that take three years to complete. GPC Latehar currently provides four distinct diploma programmes: structures, computers Science and Engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering. Each of these programmes is approved to have 60 intakes, hence in all courses offered, the limits them to 240. This variety of engineering specialties enables students to select a proper field of study for their further career.
