Government Polytechnic College, Muttom (GPC Muttom) was established in 1981, It is one of the reputed technical colleges in the state. Affiliated to the Idukki University, Thodupuzha, Kerala; it occupies about 22 acres land extensively laid out for the development of the college. Affiliated to All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, GPC Muttom provides the following five diploma courses in engineering disciplines. The institute has total student intake of 772 and total faculty strength of 33 to enable the technical education environment. The belief in the quality delivery of tutorial faculties is clearly demonstrated in the availability of specialisations offered by the college they include Civil Engineering, Computer engineering, Electrical and Electronics engineering, Electronics engineering as well as Mechanical engineering.
