Government Polytechnic College situated at Perinthalmanna Malappuram district of Kerala was established in 1961. This affiliated college approved by AICTE offers diploma courses in different branch of engineering. The institute is spread on a campus area of 21.57 acres with total intake of 767 students and has 24 faculty members. The college offers four diploma courses where each branch is directed at different branches of engineering to cater the interest of the aspirants studying as technicians as well as engineers.

Government Polytechnic College boasts of boasting of affordable year – round comprehensive and name modernity Up-to- date facilities for learning. The Advanced Computer Lab which serves at the resource centre of the school is fitted with 25 seated desktop computers, a 10 KVA-UPS, a printer and design software to accommodate architecture design classes. Out of interest of the students at the college, it has a health department with First Aid services and full equipped gym. To accommodate the out-station students, the campus also provides the hostel for both male and female students. Some of the facilities and services are: An auditorium for conference and seminars, a cafeteria, sport facilities for games like volley ball, football, cricket and others ISD, STD backed by BSNL under National Mission for Education through Optical Fibre Connectivity.

Government Polytechnic College, Perinthalmanna provide four full time diploma courses each of three years duration. Such courses comprise Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Diploma Electronics Engineering, and Diploma Mechanical Engineering. Each programme has an approved intake of 60 students which means that there are 240 places for students in all the courses offered in this institution. The institute has a policy of offering students a professional education for the competitive world of the industry.
