Government Polytechnic College, Srirangam started in the year 2013 and is an affiliated college situated at Tiruchirappalli district, Tamil Nadu. The institute encompasses broad recognition from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and provides different diploma courses in various branches of engineering. Located on an 8 acre land, the college’s total admission is 732 and total faculty which are 38. Government Polytechnic College, Srirangam provides full-time diploma courses in five core engineering fields: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics & Communication and Computer engineering. This government run institution of higher learning provides 10 courses all of which are diploma courses albeit being full-time. These are five normal three-year diploma programs; five diploma programs for lateral entry. The regular diploma programs takes three years while the lateral entry programs enable certain students to transfer into the second year. The total approved intake for the regular diploma courses has been fixed at 300 seats with intake of 60 in each stream of engineering. Further, the lateral entry programs provide 6 seats each in total for five disciplines and has a combined total of thirty seats available.
