Government Polytechnic for Women, Nellore was started in the year 1984 is a Self financing institution located at Saraswati Nagar, Dargamitta,Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. Being an AICTE affiliated women’s technical university, its programs are recognised to provide quality education in the arena of engineering. Situated on a 2.02 acre campus the institute is currently having 407 students strength and 16 faculties.

Government Polytechnic for Women has developed functional facilities to support learning and make the atmosphere in the institute conducive for learning. Construction of a well stocked library means it provides books and other physical resources to accompany teaching learning resources. The college has departmental laboratories which is essential for practicals needed in technical learning. There are adequate hostels for the out of town students while the girls are adequated with a girls’ hostel at reasonable charges. The campus also has a cafeteria that can supply the need of the students and the staff in terms of foods.
