Government Polytechnic for Women, Panchkula was established in the year 2008. It is an affiliated college located in Morni Hills, Haryana. The institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, and the courses being offered by the institution are affiliated with the State Board of Technical Education, Haryana. Its campus area is 2.56 acres, having a total student enrolment of 361, and the faculty strength is 7.

Government Polytechnic for Women provides many facilities for the overall growth of students' academic and personal development. Government Polytechnic for Women, Panchkula offers a total of five diploma courses, all of which are full-time programmes.These courses are in Computer Engineering, Architectural Assistantship, Medical Lab Technology, Hotel Management and Catering, and Fashion Technology. The approved total intake for all these courses is 240, though the intake for individual courses is 30 to 60 seats.
