Government Polytechnic, Hiriyur (GPH) is a technical education institution that was established in the year 2008. The college is affiliated with the Directorate of Technical Education, Bangalore (DTE) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Government Polytechnic Hiriyur offers three-year diploma courses such as Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Computer Science Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, and Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering. 

Government Polytechnic Hiriyur's eligibility criteria for admission to the diploma courses are based on merit in previous qualifying examinations. The Government Polytechnic Hiriyur admission process is conducted through online counselling based on the merit list prepared by DTE. The candidates must register online and fill in their choices of colleges and courses. The allotment of seats is done according to the rank, category, and availability of seats.
