Government Polytechnic, Kalidindi, was established in the year 2008 and is located in Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh. This technical institution, affiliated and approved by AICTE, runs Diploma Engineering Courses. The approved intake of students in this institution is 19, with a matching strength of faculty members; therefore, it provides an ideal learning environment. Government Polytechnic, Kalidindi offers two diploma courses in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Electronics and Communications Engineering. The institute's commitment to technical education gets confirmation from AICTE approval for the programmees focusing more on practical and industry-related courses. 

The campus is situated within the Z.P High School Campus on the Main Road at Kalidindi and is provided with all necessary facilities for academics and personality development. It works like a resource centre, aiding students in getting most types of technical literature and reference material related to various facets of subjects. The theoretical learning is supplemented through departmental-specific laboratories which an institute maintains, helping the student get hands-on experience and practical skills to face the fieldwork in the future. At present, Government Polytechnic, Kalidindi offers two full-time diploma courses with a duration of three years. For both programmes taken together, the institute has a total approved intake of 120 students, out of which 60 are allocated to each programme. These diploma programmes are designed to provide students with a wealth of education in their chosen field of engineering, readily employable at entry positions within the engineering profession or enrolled for further studies in engineering.

The Government Polytechnic, Kalidindi admission process flows smoothly and is purely based on merit. Prospectus-cum-Application forms can be obtained from State Board of Technical Education and Training, AP, Vijayawada. The aspiring students shall have to appear for the state-wide entrance examination, viz. Andhra Pradesh Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (AP POLYCET). The Entrance Examination is usually conducted in April every year. The applicant should have passed or shall be appearing for the SSC or equivalent examinations. AP POLYCET is the prime entrance to all the diploma courses admitted in the institute. 

Government Polytechnic, Kalidindi, through its strong technical education curriculum and hands-on philosophy, seeks to provide skilled technicians and engineers for different industries. Though the institute may be pretty young compared to some of its counterparts, the approval from AICTE and structured curriculum would prove its commitment towards standard education in order to make their students capable for continuously changing technological advancement.
