Government Polytechnic Kanda, Bageshwar was established in the year 2006 as an affiliated College at Uttarakhand. The technical institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education and offers diploma courses in engineering. The institution of the polytechnic is within a 5-acre compact campus. The enrolment number in the polytechnic is 62 students, with a faculty strength of 4. Currently, the Institution offers two full-time Diploma courses with specialisations in Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering, catering to the interest of such students who would like to pursue their interests in practical, industry-oriented technical education.
