Government Polytechnic, Kolar Gold Fields was set up in the year 2009, in Kolar of Karnataka and is one of the premier Technical Education Institutions in the State. This affiliated college having approval from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), provides various diploma courses in various engineering fields. The total student intake is 423 the facility has a strength of 21 faculty members resulting in the best learning environment. The polytechnic tracks five full time diploma courses namely; mechanical engineering, computer science and engineering, civil engineering, electronics and communication engineering sand which is sandwich course and automobile engineering.

The institute has several infrastructure amenities to cater and help students in their academic as well as personal development. The library plays an enabling role in the sense that it acts as a storehouse providing students with most needed educational resources. The laboratories provided within departments enable students apply concepts learnt in classes in real life scenarios.
