Government Polytechnic situated at Madakasira of Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, has been started in 2009. This technical institution, recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), provides diplomas in a stretch of land of 5-acres. In terms of the total number of students it takes per year, it is 110, and the faculty strength is 10, which makes the institute offer concentrated training. Government Polytechnic, Madakasira, presently offers two diploma programmes only, which strictly shows their concern in technical education in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Textile Technology. 

They have several other amenities that aid academic achievement and personal development of the learners in the institute. The college owns a library, which acts as a resource centre by providing a multitude of education-related documents besides reference books to the students. Facilities such as these well-equipped laboratories provide practical insight for subject knowledge, which enables application of knowledge to actual problems. Further, to facilitate the college's enriched core-computing services, students are well acquainted with the move-age technology. 

Government Polytechnic, Madakasira, provides two full-time diploma courses. The Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering takes three years, whereas the Diploma in Textile Technology takes four years. This allows the institute to keep standards high and keep student-to-faculty ratios low in these specialised areas of study.
