About Government Polytechnic, Purnea
Government Polytechnic Purnea (GP Purnea) is one of the oldest polytechnic colleges of Koshi area of Bihar and was established in 1960. The courses include diploma in engineering courses in five branches namely civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, and computer science and engineering. Admissions at Government Polytechnic Purnea are done on the basis of Diploma Certificate Entrance Competitive Examination (DCECE) conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.
The institute is affiliated to the State Board of Technical Education Bihar and recognised by AICTE as well as the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of Bihar. For lateral admissions, candidates must appear DCECE LE exam. Government Polytechnic Purnea facilities include classrooms, a computer centre, workshops, and a well-stocked library. Another highlight of the institute is the training and placement cell that manages the Government Polytechnic Purnea placements. The cell is headed by a training and placement officer and is responsible for managing placement activities, career counselling and organising industrial visits for students.

Our college have all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment .The facilities in our laboratories, libraries ,sports centres and hostels are good.All are used and well maintained.The living spaces are clean and foods are hygienic.
