Government Polytechnic, Shergarh, was established in the year 2017 and has grown up to be one of the leading technical Institutions in Kaithal, Haryana. This co-educational institute is spread over a sprawling area of 11 acres and has been offering quality technical education to budding engineers. The institute is duly approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, and offers various diploma programmes. With 250 students enrolment and a faculty strength of 10, the institute ensures personal attention and quality education. Presently, the Government Polytechnic, Shergarh offers five diploma courses with specializations in Agricultural, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, and Civil Engineering to cater to different interests and varied career aspirations of the students.

The well-stocked library serves as an information center of knowledge for the students with a view to disseminating information about various academic resources and reference books. This polytechnic has instituted departmental laboratories to substantiate theoretical knowledge, equipping students with practical knowledge in their respective branches of engineering. Government Polytechnic, Shergarh offers five full-time diploma courses, which are of three years duration each. These are in Diploma in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Civil Engineering. The Institute has a combined approved intake of 300 students in all courses, with each program having an intake of 60 students.
