Shakambhar PG College Sambhar Lake is an affiliated college which was established in 1969 in Rajasthan, India. Located over a 73.9 acre campus, the institution offers twelve courses under six degrees, for 2,832 students. With a faculty strength of 35, the college maintains a student-teacher ratio of 81:1. NAAC accredited institution and has the specialty in Arts, Commerce and Science. Regarding the gender ratio, Government Shakambhar PG College has equally a good number of female students participating with (undergraduate programmes – 58 %, post Graduate programmes– 62%).

As it will be shown in the following sub-sections, the college offers different types of learning amenities to improve the learning of its students. With a view of serving as an information centre, the library stocks and disseminates a good number of academic resources. The college does keep up sports activities for those who are interested in that sort of thing: there are also a fair number of very professional gyms. The institution understands the role of Information Technology in the current society and has developed good information technology facilities. Teaching laboratories are subject specific to address practical teaching learning requirements An auditorium accommodates events such as seminars. It also boasts of having different hostels for male and female students, to provide the students with a conducive living-dining atmosphere, for those who live in the hostels.

The Government Shakambhar PG College comprises of 12 courses namely Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes. The institution offers 4 full time undergraduate programmes and 8 full time master programmes. The courses with specialisations are M.Com, M.Sc, MA, B.Sc, BA, B.Com. Total enrolment of students for all course offerings is 2,520; 2,380 of whom are pursuing undergraduate programmes while 452 are pursuing postgraduate programmes. The great variety of programmes offered by this school enables learners to explore different fields of knowledge.

Admission policy in our college is that the college must be accessible to all talents and the admission must also be merit based.  The admission process of the college probably dovetails with those of the affiliating University, which usually begins several months to the commencement of the academic year.
