About Government Tool Room and Training Centre, Belgaum

Of the above establishments, the Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTTC) at Belgaum was set up in 1997 and is a standalone institute for technical education in Karnataka. This Technical college is located in the Industrial Estate of Udyambag, Belgaum, approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and is preparing the future technicians for more than two decades. With a total number of students it takes 286 and faculty members of 3 GTTC Belgaum provides the students optimal environment for practical utilization in their field of interest namely Precision Engineering and Automation.

Now GTTC Belgaum is proud to offer its students some of the best and modern required equipments to improve the learning process. The institute has a well equipped library including both national and international journals for students to go for more than what they study. Being aware of the role of proficiency in technical training that is an end product of every department, GTTC has developed departmental laboratories with modern equipment. These are ideal laboratories to enhance learning with practical session as a link between classroom learning and practical experience. Further, good investment on IT facilities in the institute have been realized, thus expose the students on advanced technological tools relating to their field.

Compact and as alike because they include a wide array of diploma programmes that is intended to accommodate the needs of the manufacturing industry in the institute. GTTC Belgaum at present offers three full time diploma courses, which are spread over three years. These are Diploma in Precision Manufacturing, Diploma in Tool and Die Making, Diploma in Automation and Robotics. These programmes offer out 150 seats in total, and the institute always pays much attention to the quality of teaching through maintaining a suitable student-faculty ratio. The annual fee structure of each of these programmes is fixed at ₹ 110,000 so it makes quality technical education affordable for students.
