The Government Tool Room and Training Centre GTTC is a technical institute situated at Tumkur, Karnataka state, specially set up in the year, 2009 at the Hirehalli Industrial Area, Tumkur. This VU affiliated college approved by All India Council for Technical Education AICTE is specially aimed to impart practical and professional education in the tool and die making. The college thus has a total student enrolment of 186 providing a distinct teaching model that effectively caters for the challenges of the manufacturing industry.

As well, GTTC Tumkur has equipped various kind of facilities that help the students in their learning process. The college has got its own well stocked library where students can find all the technical books and document they need. Facilities, Accommodations exist for each department that enable real-life, hands-on training that should be a large part of a technical curriculum. It also boasts of great information technology for students because the reform stresses on mastery of technology. In matters concerning extra co-curricular activities and events, the college has an auditorium and facilities for sports to enable the students lead balanced lives.

The institute’s main product offering is the Diploma in Tool and Die Making. This course takes four years, but it is a full-time course, and the curriculum is crafted to entail theoretical knowledge as well as practical lessons. This programme alone contributes the biggest package of the student’s enrolment program of the GTTC Tumkur considering that it has the capacity to admit 60 students in a year.
