Government Tool Room and Training Centre, Udupi: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

The Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTTC) at Udupi is one of the unique technical institutions catering immense importance towards imparting quality education in the manufacturing and engineering sectors. This is an autonomous college established near Government High School, Kolalagiri Uppoor, Udupi, Karnataka; it is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). But at GTTC Udupi three diploma courses are offered which each has the span of three years and they specialise in modern subjects of manufacturing technologies. Total enrolment capacity of the institute is 180 student through the various programmes it offers and seeks to produce quality professionals equipped to join the current growing industrial market.

The facility in GTTC Udupi has the following facilities that would facilitate the learning of the students. The institute has its own fully furnished and stocked library so that the students get all the technical books and other resources required for their studies. For students interested in physical activities, there are sport amenities for them which make the school provide a balance between intellectual and physical education. It also boasts of a good Information Technology platform to prepare the students on updated technology. Most significantly, to provide substantive practical learning that is very relevant to engineering and manufacturing industries, GTTC Udupi encompasses departmental laboratories.

At present, the institute runs three diploma programs as full time programmes with an intake capacity of 60 for each of the programs which makes the total capacity to 180. There are three programmes which are: diploma in Mechatronics, diploma in precision manufacturing, and diploma in Tool and die making. Every course aims to equip the learners with good academic knowledge and skills and practice them when they join the respective fields.
