Government Women ‘s college established in the year 1971 is a premier women’s college in Mandya Karnataka, India. This affiliated college is situated in the premise of Mandya city and from five decades this college has been providing path to the young women. Located on a vast plot of 15 acres, the college is duly recognized and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) mandated to maintain the quality standards of the college. The college admits 2,440 students in total and has 60 faculty members at its discretion; it provides 28 courses in 8 degree programs to satisfy the educational and professional needs of different learners.

The college has well-developed facilities meant to support learning and the general development potentials of the learners in their tenure at the institution. A good stock library is the administrative center of academic functions with over 55,000 text books in stock and 45 journals subscribed to. The library also offers the N-list program; which is a door to anything digital for the students and teachers. In addition, for practical purposes, the college has established departmental laboratories with all the essentials needed for proper functioning. There is a magnificent open-air amphitheater with the capacity for over 2, 000 students with beautiful vegetation around it, which complements other alternatives used in making college events and performances. In order to maintain the overall fitness of children the college provides a well-equipped gym to perform and also it provides many sports facilities. The institution also takes the comfort and safety of its students with a section for hosting girls as a hostel.

Government Women’s college Was offering almost all the general and traditional subjects of undergraduate and postgraduate level education in humanities, Science and commerce streams. Now it offers 28 full time courses among them humanities are BA, B.Com, BBA, and BSW while science is B.Sc The post graduate courses are MA, M.Com, and M.Sc. These programs offered to the students is across the diverse fields such as Arts, Commerce, Science, and Social work. It is worth noticing that a college offers diversity in education especially in Arts with options like BA in Criminology, Psychology and Sociology among others and BA in Public Administration, Journalism and Optional English among others. In the Science stream, the students have an option to choose following discipline separately that is B.Sc in Biochemistry, Botany and Microbiology. The college also provides post graduate courses in Economic, History, sociology Kannada Commerce and chemistry, for further studies.
