Government Women’s Polytechnic College is located in Thrissur was founded in 1962 to impart quality technical education to the female candidates. Situated at Thrissur, Nedupuzha, this affiliated college has got the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approval. The institute has four diploma courses that take three years to complete covering mechanical engineering, civil engineering electrical engineering, and electronics engineering. The college currently having 17 members in the faculty with commitment to produce quality professionals in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering Commercial practice and Civil Engineering.

This college has had an understanding in the development of various infrastructural facilities that would assist in the learning process of the learners. To support this, there is a good library measuring 300 square meters, which has a stock of about 15000 books, technical journals, magazines etc., along with various digital resources like… National Digital Library and NPTEL online videos etc.,These resources include print and electronic material from the National Digital Library and NPTEL online videos. The campus has developed functional modern laboratories that are specific to the departments so that people get to apply their work practically.

Government Women’s Polytechnic College Thrissur conducts four full time Diploma courses all of which are regular courses. Every programme has an allowed cohort size of 60 students, making the overall total capacity of students in all courses to be 240. The college aims to offer professional technical education in the core engineering disciplines and to reorient students for structured careers in their areas of major interest.
