GP Porwal Arts Commerce and VV Salimath Science college, Sindgi was founded in 1972 is a leading college in higher learning in Bijapur, Karnataka. This affiliated college approved by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) includes a vast number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The institution has a student population of 1,283 and is spread across its 26 acre space and the male to female ration is 641:596. The college has a faculty of 25 dedicated members for 5 degree programmes it offers in arts, commerce and sciences.

GP Porwal Arts Commerce and VV Salimath Science college takes pride in having well equipped facilities that augment learning as part of the institution’s effectiveness. Located at the centre of academic facilities, a large library houses 28,000 volumes and 30 journals and periodicals needed by the students. The college has a fully developed campus equipped with modern Laboratories in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, and Computer Science. To enhance the pedagogy level by way of multi media presentation and CDs of related subjects, a digital lab is installed.

These include four undergraduate courses: Three year Under Graduate courses namely BA, B.Com, and B.Sc courses. On an average the college offers an annual intake of total 1283 students in all the courses.
