Greater Noida College of Education was established in year 2004 as a self-financed institution This institution is a teacher training college, situated in Greater Noida district of Uttar Pradesh. This co-educational institute has provided enriched programs that prepare prospective educators in the society. Being situated on a relatively small plot of 1.5 acres of land the college provides the desired specialisation for students who prepare for teachers’ occupancy. The institute currently has 12 qualified faculty members that will help students receive effective and individualized instruction. The college boasts of appropriate physical structures that enhance learning in all practical ways possible. 

In addition to classrooms and lecture halls, the main components of the concept of academic resources are a library with a reference section, journals, and a comfortable library area, which gives educational resources to students. For those with an interest in sports the college provides a variety of sporting amenities to encourage the growth and improvement of the body as well as the mind. On the ground, there is a cafeteria through which learners can make some few stops to interact socially between lessons in a day. The college also establishes students’ welfare through provision of medical facilities through a medical center where fist aid is availed to patients. In meeting modern learning needs, the institution has efficient Information Technology facilities so that the students are conversant with technological learning. Teaching and learning is accompanied by well enhanced departmental laboratories that enable students to practically learn what they are trained on. 

At present, Greater Noida College of Education provides two regular courses in teacher education. The B.Ed programme with an intake capacity of one hundred students is a two years course offered to train students for teaching at the secondary and senior secondary level. The Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) another intake of 50 students is also a two year program dedicated to primary teachers’ training. As it will be seen further, both courses are designed to offer the theoretical knowledge in the field of education, as well as teaching skills that are important in producing effective educators. 

The admission policy of Greater Noida College of Education includes the marks scored in the qualifying examinations and or entrance examinations. Application to the B.Ed program is done as per rules and regulation of the State Government, UT Administration and the University to which the college is affiliated to. These authorities may even set an entrance examination as one of the ways of selection into the program. Likewise, regarding the admission process for the D.El.Ed program also, it opens with the norms set by the State Government or UT Administration depending upon whether they have created merit list referring to the qualifying examination or have separately conducted entrance examination. National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) approves the teacher education programs of the college to make sure that it has adopted the standards regarding the teacher training programs across the country. The college has a good link with industries and education departments through employers’ associations, which offer current learners with insight and job openings.
