Obviously, GS College and School of Nursing, Hapur, the nursing college founded in 2017, is comparatively young institution. This affiliated college is situated near the Railway Station Pilkhuwa in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh which is approved from Indian Nursing Council (INC) so that the college provides quality education in nursing stream. The institute is situated across a tiny rated area of 2.115 acres to give the students and teachers a closed place to teach and learn respectively. Currently the college has 100 students and faculty members are 26 in number which allows good ratio of student to teacher facilitating individual mentoring.
GS College and School of Nursing has numerous facilities that are meant to improve learning environment as well as personalities of the learners. The library plays a key role to enhance the knowledge of students to improves nursing standards. For the students having interest in sports and games the college facilitate and provide numerous facilities like basketball court, cricket stadium, Football ground, badminton court, Gym etc.. It also has present-day laboratory facilities necessary for the practical training of the students in nursing. As a result of the introduction of the digital age of learning, the college has made good investments on excellent IT equipments. Students can then find something to eat at the Staff and Students cafeteria present at the campus compound. For example, the college has a boys hostel and a girls hostel to facilitate accommodations to those students coming from other regions. Health responsibilities are met through a health centre with basic first aid services. In addition, the college has an auditorium for seminars and other occasions, well equipped air conditioned theatres with multimedia facilities, and a guest house for the teaching faculty and their families who visited them occasionally.
GS College and School of Nursing currently offers two full-time nursing programmes: the GNM programme and the B.Sc Nursing degree as well as the course on Community Health, designed for nurses who have completed the GNM programme. The B.Sc Nursing programme takes four years, and the college has an approval to recruit 20 students per year. Meanwhile, the GNM programme can be taken for three years. Both the programmes are academically structured and intend to present a full course of theoretical knowledge and skills necessary for professional nursing practice.
The admission criteria at GS College and School of Nursing are simple and are based on merit. For the B.Sc Nursing programme, student must pass the Common Nursing Entrance Test CNET conducted by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Lucknow. This entrance examination is used by nursing faculties in order to test the potential of the students aspiring to take nursing and get admission into the course. Wold college accepts CNET scores as part of its effort to attract well qualified students with good backgrounds in the basic sciences and abilities in nursing.
