GS Tompe Arts, Commerce, and Science College was founded in 1968 in Chandur Bazar, Maharashtra. It is an affiliated college which is NAAC accredited. It has various courses in arts, commerce, and science streams. Spread over a campus of 8.36 acres, the college has an enrollment strength of 2,504 students with a faculty of 45. The institution conducts 14 courses under 8 degrees spread across both undergraduate as well as postgraduate levels. Its student body is divided into 65% undergraduates and 35% postgraduates with a gender ratio of 65 females against 35 males. 

GS Tompe Arts, Commerce, and Science College is keen on providing an all-round learning environment with a range of facilities. The library is the academic hub and contains an impressive array of resources for independent study. The Institution possesses well-equipped laboratories in Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Geology, plus a fully air-conditioned Computer Laboratory. For the sports-minded student, the college provides various sporting facilities, such as a gymnasium. The campus is digital, with Wi-Fi throughout. There is an under-construction girls' hostel having an intake capacity of 60 students in the college which would enhance residential facilities. The college, hostels, and other buildings have sound infrastructural facilities. The college possesses a state-of-art auditorium with seating arrangement for 1000 persons with sound and light systems. 

GS Tompe Arts, Commerce and Science College offers 14 courses in total, that include undergraduate and postgraduate. It has various full-time undergraduate courses such as BA, B.Com, and B.Sc. The postgraduate programmes of the college include MA in Sociology, Marathi, History, and Political Science, and M.Sc in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Chemistry, respectively.
In addition to the above courses, the college also runs professional courses like B.Ed and D.El.Ed. Altogether, the student intake for the three courses is 1,971, even though the college has been graduating a larger proportion of students in recent years. 

At GS Tompe Arts, Commerce and Science College, the process of admission is purely on merit. It takes care of merit on marks secured in qualifying examinations and/or entrance tests, as may be required by state governments and by universities in course of admission policy. For B.Ed admissions, the college has an authentic selection process based on the candidate's performance in qualifying exams or entrance tests, as prescribed by the state and university authorities.
