Gunwant Rao Deshmukh College of Education, Pusad, was started in 2005 and presently it is a self financing institution that is exclusively involved in the teacher education. Situated in Yavatmal city of the state Maharashtra, this is a co-educational institution spread over an area of 1.75 acres. The college is affiliated with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to provide the educational program up to the mark. The college has a maximum strength of 80 students and faculty of 9, which provides an extended classroom concept. The institute offers two professional teaching specialty programmes for prospective educators at two different levels.

Gunwant Rao Deshmukh College of Education has a number of amenities with learning and co-curricular benefits to the students in their learning processes. It is important for sports lovers as the college has proved to have the best of sports facilities that will enhance the spirit of team work and promote sports among students. Gunwant Rao Deshmukh College of Education at present offers two courses in the field of education. The B.Ed has an approved seating capacity of one hundred 100 and the D.El.Ed course is also offered. These courses to provide students with the core competencies and knowledge that enable him/her as a teacher to teach at different levels within education system.

Gunwant Rao Deshmukh College of Education takes admissions strictly on the basis of the obtained marks at the qualifying examination as well as entrance examination. Admission to the college is done according to the regulation of admission policies of the Maharashtra state government and adheres to the norms of the University to which it is affiliated to. When it comes to the admission of candidates to B.Ed, they are admitted through an accumulative assessment of these tests to guarantee that effective candidates for teaching services are absorbed into the teaching service.
