Gunwant Rao Deshmukh College of Education, Pusad: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Gunwant Rao Deshmukh College of Education at Pusad was started in 2005 and presently it is a self financing institution that is exclusively involved in the teacher education. Presently situated in Yavatmal city of the state Maharashtra; this is a co-educational institution spread over an area of 1.75 acres. The college is affiliated with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to provide the educational program up to the mark. The college has a maximum strength of 80 students and faculty of 9, which provides an extended classroom concept. The institute offers two professional teaching specialty programs for prospective educators at two different levels.

The college has a number of amenities with learning and co-curricular benefits to the students in their learning processes. It is important for sports lovers as the college has proved to have the best of sports facilities that will enhance the spirit of team work and promote sports among students. In academic and cultural activities; the college has an auditorium where students display their talents and attend seminars. The library is the informational center where all sources needed for students’ research and study are provided. Prospective teachers can practice in well-equipped laboratories, and the available information technology facilities make students aware of recent technological diversification in learning. Students and staff have a cafeteria on campus that keeps them nourished while providing a group atmosphere. Also for the convenience of its guest and visitors the college also accommodated for a guest room/ waiting room for the visiting faculty and students’ families to make their stay comfortable.

The Gunwant Rao Deshmukh College of Education at present offers two full time courses in the field of education. The B.Ed has an approved seating capacity of one hundred 100 and the D.El.Ed course is also offered, although the seating capacity is not stated. It takes two years to complete both programs, at the end of which students make the perfect preparations for future educators. These courses to provide students with the core competencies and knowledge that enable him/her as a teacher to teach at different levels within education system.

Gunwant Rao Deshmukh College of Education takes admissions strictly on the basis of the obtained marks at the qualifying examination as well as/ or entrance examination. Admission to the college is done according to the regulation of admission policies of the Maharashtra state government and adheres to the norms of the University to which it is affiliated to. When it comes to the admission of candidates to B.Ed, they are admitted through an accumulative assessment of these tests to guarantee that effective candidates for teaching services are absorbed into the teaching service. Likewise, the D.El.Ed programme also hold merit for admission process as prescribed by the State Govt / UT administration.
