Gurram Bala Narsaiah Institute of Pharmacy (GBNIP or GBNIP College) is an affiliated institute, started in 2007 in Ranga Reddy District of Telangana. It is one of the co-educational institutes which comes under the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). GBNIP has a rich offer of the pharmacy programmes containing 8 courses for three degrees. At present, the institute boasts of 47 members of the faculty, and the institute aims at offering quality education in the area of pharmacy.
GBNIP College boasts about a variety of facilities that can improve the status of students’ experience. Hostel accommodations for boys and girls are available and have fully furnished rooms and a separate mess. There campus also has a well stocked library that can occupy up to 60 students in order to carryout their studies in a serene environment. In case of health complications, there is a round the clock dispensary within the compound that hires resident Medical Officers. The college also provides well equipped laboratory for practical demonstration, an auditorium for organising seminars and meetings and a canteen facility too. Every student enjoys the internet connection on campus, and they are able to browse through the internet without restrictions. The sport infrastructure amenities are also provided for exercise to offer a balanced life style among the students.
To meet the demand of specialisation in the field of pharmacy, GBNIP provides various pharmacy courses. At present, the institute offers eight courses which cuts across the undergraduate and postgraduate level. For instance, at the undergraduate level, a student is offered a 4-year programme B.Pharma and a 6-year programme, Pharm D. At Postgraduate level, GBNIP provides the following M.Pharma specialisations that takes two years. Such as M.Pharma in Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutical management and Regulatory Affairs, Pharmaceutics, and Pharmacology. The number of total approved intakes for these courses are different where B.Pharma get the highest number of intakes of 100, Pharm.D get the intakes of 30 and most all the M.Pharma specialisations get 15 intakes each.
Regarding the admission policy, the Gurram Bala Narsaiah Institute of Pharmacy maintains a proper procedure also that is absolutely free from unfair practice. For the undergraduate programme such as B.Pharma, admissions decisions are mostly given by TS EAMCET Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test. This exam acting as a basis for entry of aspiring pharmacy students in the state. These admissions are done together with the University PG Admissions Director for postgraduate programmes. Students seeking admission for M.Pharma courses get admitted based on their GPAT ranks and fresh students are also admitted by considering the general and SC/ST students. This helps in making sure that the students from economically weaker backgrounds secure chances to attend college education in pharmacy. The Training and Placement Cell of the institute is just a mediator that helps them organise campus recruitment drives and further helps the organisation in recruiting the students about to graduate.
