Guru Gobind Singh College of Education, Barnala, came into existence in 2006 and it is one of the leading colleges for the future of education system. This affiliated college is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education, NCTE. The college is located in a 3 acre campus and provide two professional course in education with a total student strength of 241. It has a team of faculty members of sixteen resulting into quality service delivery coupled with individual attention to each and every candidate. The Guru Gobind Singh College of Education has designed two full time courses in education field. The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), with an intake capacity of 100, is a professional course to equip students to be secondary and higher secondary teachers. The Diploma in Education (D.Ed) course of this institution enrols 50 students training teachers for the primary and elementary level. Both of them take two years to complete and offer thorough theoretical preparation and pedagogical practices. With 70 and 80 combined seats for these two courses, the college has a great part in meeting the shortage of teachers in the area.
