Guru Har Krishan College of Education, Karnal was set up in the year 2008. It is affiliated with the University situated at Raitkhana village, Indri Tehsil, Karnal district, Haryana. The institution is duly approved by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi, and imparts its specialized programs in the field of education. This college has a faculty strength of 16 and spreads over an area of 5 acres.  A co-educational system allows both boys and girls to fulfill their educational goals in an atmosphere congenial for learning.

The college is committed to providing a comprehensive learning experience through facilities that help in the all-round development of its students. The campus has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, which are off-campus but fully equipped with security features such as CCTV cameras. Each hostel room is provided with facilities like a study table, chair, bed, and almirah. The college's working library has a huge stock of books and other reading materials, comprising over forty journals and magazines, national and international, along with daily newspapers. It also provides computer and internet access for e-journal facilities. The institute has three air-conditioned computer labs. One of these labs comprises more than 180 computers, all attached to a single 1 MBPS RF link for internet connectivity. For the convenience and leisure of students, a hygienic cafeteria is provided within the campus. It offers quality snacks and eatables in a decently spacious environment.

Guru Har Krishan College of Education has two major courses in the field of education, B.Ed with 100 seats and D.El.Ed with 50 seats. Both are regular programs extending to two years. The institution tries to provide quality education in these specialised fields and prepares students for bright careers in teaching and education.

The admission procedure of Guru Har Krishan College of Education is meritorious, based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and entrance examination. Admissions to the B.Ed course shall be as per the policy of the State Government/UT Administration and the University. Similarly, the D.El.Ed course follows the selection process prescribed by the State/Central Government, UT Administration, or the affiliating University.
