Gwalior Institute of Technology and Science (GITS) was set up in 1989, Gwalior, (Madhya Pradesh) and is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Technological University, Bhopal. Established in 1982, this institute is located at Mahadji Nagar, Shivpuri Link Road and has been working for the development technical education. At GITS, there are plethora of engineering courses that are proposed to produce quality human resource in technical specialization. Currently, the institute has a faculty strength of 28 professors and it has the mission of producing quality human resource in business and management science education with practical training.
The institute also has a broad and diverse offering a range of facilities for students’ study and self-development. GITS offers having different hostels for boys and girls, There are options of Air cooled Ventilated rooms, with the extra luxurious provision of Refridgerators and Computers if required. The campus has a facility that houses a health center for first aid, a gym to keep fit and sports fields that promote games such as volley ball, basketball, cricket, among others. The college conducts state wise event and the GITS T20 Cricket tournament is conducted at Capt. Roop Singh Stadium. Concerning academics, GITS comprises an enormous central library as well as subject-focused libraries and contains thousands of books and e-books and research documents belonging to numerous fields of study.
BE programs The GITS offers four under graduate course of study all of which are full time , regular courses in the Faculty of Engineering. These are BE in Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering Electronics and Communication Engineering Mechanical Engineering. The total intake capacity of these programs is 300 students The maximum intake capacity for admission into Mechanical Engineering is 120 students Other three are having only 60 intake capacity each. These diverse areas of engineering give the student the opportunity to select a specialty based on his/her preference and goal on the future.
The admission was structured to allow able and willing students to enroll in the engineering courses offered at GITS. As for the general information, the institute does not disclose such specific details as admission dates and the exams accepted by the institute but the students are welcome to visit the official site of the institute or the admission office more often for more detailed information. Existing infrastructure developed at GITS includes fully equipped laboratories for each branch of engineering education, Wi-fi facility and a food court with hygienic food of choice for students. It also has transport facilities like a finer of about fifty buses to enhance easy transport for the students. Having educational objectives as part of its guiding principles, GITS aims to produce engineers who can achieve great career success in the emerging field.
