The institution namely Gyana Jyothi College of Pharmacy (GJCP) was started in the year 2007 and has its campus in Hyderabad which is in the state of Telangana. PCI approved this affiliated college provides various education programmes in pharmaceutical science. The GJCP is located in a limited area of two acres and five hectares, but it has made its place in pharmaceutical education. Currently, the college as a total enrolment of 233 students and a faculty of 30 qualified and hardworking members. GJCP has developed 5 of its technical offerings and it provides 2-degree levels in pharmaceutical science, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Analysis and Industrial Pharmacy.
Gyana Jyothi College of Pharmacy firmly believes in offering its students modern amenity- enriched campuses in order to promote learning. The library at GJCP is equipped with all kinds of books required for the students and the faculty member. Currently the library stock consists of about 500 titles, 5000 volumes, and thirty journals, including access to e-journals and other online resources available in the computer section of the library. The college boasts of well-equipped highly-developed laboratories which enable the college to close the gap between books and the market. These lab equip the student’s real life experiences in research in matters scientific and technological to meet challenges in the pharmaceutical industries.
GJCP provides to its students all kinds of courses on pharmacy education. The college provides 5 courses in total,one undergraduate programme, B.Pharma, and four postgraduate programmes: M.Pharmacy in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management and regulation Affairs as well as Industrial Pharmacy. All these programmes are full time, while B.Pharma takes 4 years and all the M.Pharma programmes take 2 years each. The B.Pharma programme has an approved intake capacity of 100 seats, and the college has the potential to give a home to a large number of budding pharmacists every academic year.
The process to get admitted in Gyana Jyothi College of Pharmacy is highly criterion based and is quite systematic. For getting admission in B.Pharma, the candidates are eligible and must have appeared for the Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET). This entrance examination is conducted by the Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education, Hyderabad and is a test of the candidates ability in mathematics. For postgraduate programme, admissions are provided on the basis of the score obtained in GATE or TS PGECET for the respective discipline. They reach make sure that only the most worthy and serious candidates get the admission into the GJCP’s programmes.
