Haji Sayed Progressive Teachers Training Institute, Murshidabad: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Hazi Sayed Progressive Teachers Training Institute, Murshidabad, West Bengal, is a relatively new educational institute, established in 2017. This is a co-educational institute that aims at shaping the future teachers of the nation by its two different teaching-oriented programs. This institute is built on a very small area of 1.08 acres, yet it has risen to be at par with the institutions involved in teacher education. Having a total enrolment of 349 students and a faculty strength of 32 allows for a decent student-to-teacher ratio to be maintained, which permits better care and quality education. 

The institution has various facilities for making the learning experience as comprehensive as possible for the students. A well-stocked library that works as an information center and departmental laboratories for practical work, modern IT infrastructure to help students develop an understanding of the most recent developments in the sphere of modern education, sports facilities and gym for all-round development, and an auditorium that arranges various programs, seminars, and activities promoting a healthy atmosphere for the students. This institute has also got its health care center with first-aid facilities for the students. The institution has separate hostels for both boys and girls that provide comfortable accommodation, with a cafeteria that serves the culinary needs of the campus community, along with a guest room for visiting faculty and family members.

Haji Sayed Progressive Teachers Training Institute offers two full-time courses in teacher education: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). Both courses are two-year programs and designed to impart skills and knowledge essential for the students seeking a thriving teaching profession. The sanctioned intake of the institute, spread over the said two courses, is 200. 

Admission to the Haji Sayed Progressive Teachers Training Institute shall be based on merit with the eventual result of academic excellence. Admissions to the B.Ed course shall be based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. Merit for the D.El.Ed. course shall be determined from the marks in the qualifying examination and/or by an entrance test, as per state government policies.
