Hamirpur College of Education, Hamirpur, this college was started in the year of 2003 is one of the leading teacher training college situated in Himachal Pradesh, India. This co-educational institute which is affiliated to the Himachal Pradesh University is renowned for its direction towards the preparation of future teachers. Affiliated to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) the college occupies a small plot of 1.2355 acres in Ramnagar, Hamirpur. The institute, with a student intake of 100 students and faculty of 20 members provide a centralised learning atmosphere for prospective teachers.

Hamirpur College of Education has numerous facilities to complement the learning of its students in pursuit of their degree programmes. A library with modern facility having the journals, periodicals, books relating to education is available for up to 100 students at a time. The ICT lab is a language and computer lab with 40 computer systems, projectors, and a host of multimedia resources. In the Physical Development the college provides various sports like basketball, volleyball, badminton, kho-kho, kabaddi, a large playground with adequate sports clothing and exercises annual sports. Also, there is a health centre of the campus with first aid facilities, a canteen, guest house and an auditorium for holding events and seminars.

Hamirpur College of Education offers two full-time courses: a Bachelors degree in Education (B.ED or B.T.C) and Diploma Course in Elementary Education (D.EL.ED). The total intake capacity approved for B.Ed is 100 seats and for D.El.Ed is fifty intakes. Both are taught over two years, and offer an extensive in educational theory as well as practical experience. The college currently has two flagship programmes that offer the college the focus it needs to provide specialised attention to training teachers, hence provision of the necessary skills to can competitive careers in the field.

Hamirpur College of Education believes in merit hence admission is done based on marks in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The admission policies are in concordance with the norms in the state government, Union Territory administration and with the affiliated university. It also provides quality education in admission by enlisting qualified and deserving student who will work hard and be able to produce quality educators in the future.
