The need for setting up an exclusive institution for teacher education, Sainath Education Trust’s HBB Ed College is a specialised teacher education college situated in Vashi, a part of Navi Mumbai. It has been about a college since 2006, and it formed educators for more than fifteen years. The institute offers two full-time postgraduate programmes. Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and Masters of Arts in Education (MA Education). Being a college, it has a limited total student capacity of 97 with a faculty of 6, because of which the setting is compact and more student-friendly.

It has developed and installed a number of facilities that can augment the learning environment of this college. It’s IT facilities enable it to equip its aspiring teachers with those modern technologies that are used in education. However, the biology laboratory is one to be noted due to the availability of specific instruments like microscopes, autoclaves, chromatographic chambers, etc. It also has plant and animal specimens to facilitate practical learning by the class and other students. That has a computer and internet connection within the laboratory, students are able to make and present their work in an efficient manner. On the same, the college has a medicinal plant garden, providing an added advantage to botany display and traditional medicine learning. 

Sainath Education Trust's HBB Ed College offers two primary courses. a full-time B.ED. two-year programme and a full-time MA Education two-year programme. The B.Ed. programme is allowed to enrol 50 students in a year.

HBB Ed College, funded by Sainath Education Trust, follows mainly the CET score for admission to the B. Ed. programme. Any student who wishes to gain admission into the university has to sit for the CET.
