Helen Lowry College was founded in 2017 and is one of the leading educational institutions of today Aizawl, Mizoram. This affiliated college is spread over a small area of 3.44 acre and provides many undergraduate courses. The total enrollment of Helen Lowry College is 102 total and faculty staff is 18 hence making it more compact. The college provides six full time courses in two different degree streams, arts and commerce. An example is the honours programmes in Sociology, Political Science, History, English and Education, and a B.Com.

Helen Lowry College has constructed a number of structures that can be broadly categorised as infrastructural and experiential. The campus also contains separate hostels for both boys and girls for appropriate accommodation depending on the need for it of the student. A reference section is well stocked library and plays an important role in assisting learners in their academia and research activities. The college also retains departmental laboratories which play a critical role in the college’s practical lessons and exercises in their respective fields. Besides, students can engage in sporting activities since the schools provide sports facilities to ensure students do not give much attention to their academic work. A concert hall and facilities organise different performances and seminars which enrich life and study on the campus. 

The college cafeteria serves food at reasonable prices to ensure students are able to get good balanced meals. More so, there is provision of IT facilities on the campus but the extent of provision is not well disclosed. In the interest of the students, a health centre equipped with first aid facilities is on the compound. The college also had kind provision to accommodate visiting faculty and also family members of the students during emergencies.

In fact, Helen Lowry College comprises a total of six courses, and all of them are fully based on the full-time course structure. These are five BA Honour’s programmes of Sociology, Political Science, History, English and Education and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). Education in each of these courses takes three years therefore giving students comprehensive experience in the areas of specialisation. The increase in intakes of humanities and commerce subject in the college can therefore be attributed to the institution’s effort to produce liberal graduates who can easily fit into the job market. Though the exact and separate total number of seats offered for each particular course is not given, overall the total number of students that this college takes in a year are 102, which means that college is quite student friendly and individual attention can be provided to students due to the relatively small number of students.

There are no several round admission processes used by Helen Lowry College, so the ways of accomplishing a college dream is clear.
