This paper presents HH Sri Sri Murlidhara Swamiji College of Agriculture, Malegaon which was founded in 2014 and is among the leading agricultural colleges in Maharashtra. This affiliated college is situated in Malegaon Camp, Nashik district The college is recognised by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR). Located across a vast area of 52 acres, the college provides a learning environment that is comfortable for students and researchers. However the total enrolment of the students is 237 and the number of faculties is 14, so student-teacher ratio is ideal, which provides the students better focus and direction.
Among some of the facilities available in HH Sri Sri Murlidhara Swamiji College of Agriculture to supplement the learning of students includes; For boarding, girls are offered hostels whiles limited hostel sections are provided for boys. The campus also has serviceable laboratory facilities appropriate for each department to better facilitate learning through practice and experimentation. An extensive library has diversified facilities to make every endeavour in academics possible as a result of the various resources that are available. Similar to many other institutions of higher learning, the college also places a lot of emphasis on physical and recreational activities and boasts of a gymnasium, and a wide playground for games like Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, cricket, basketball, volleyball and athletics. Chess and Table Tennis are also well provided for by specially designed indoor games. To meet the diverse needs of a college community, college also has canteen facility, first aid/health centre and strong Information and Technology support.
HH Sri Sri Murlidhara Swamiji College of Agriculture currently offers one full-time course: B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons). This is a four year programme which aims at producing students who have specialised in agricultural sciences and practices.
The admission process at HH Sri Sri Murlidhara Swamiji College of Agriculture is therefore mostly based on their performance in the Entrance Examinations. The college accepts the scorecard of Maharashtra Common Entrance Test – MHT CET as the major admission criteria for B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons) course.
