Hilakandi Polytechnic, Hailakandi: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Hilakandi Polytechnic a new technical Institute established in the year 2020 is situated at Katlicherra, Hailakandi, Assam. This affiliated college which is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) provides diploma courses in different streams of engineering. With a faculty member strength of eighteen, Hilakandi Polytechnic is a technical institution devoted to deliver technical education to the engineers of tomorrow. At present the institute provides three diploma courses for the duration of three years separately for the various branches of the engineering. 

The institute has a number of amenities to enable and enhance students’ learning and otherwise development. This is in view of the fact that the college library doubles as a resource center enabling the students to access technical text and reference materials. For practical and experiential learning, the Hilakandi Polytechnic owns functional Department wise Laboratories. These practical labs help students to apply the theories learnt in and outside the classroom environment; enables better would understanding of more complicated engineering design principles. Furthermore, the college has well developed information technology equipment which the college knows how valuable IT equipment is in todays engineering colleges. This sound IT platform keeps the students in touch with technological developments and prepares them for the technological world. 

At present, the given Polytechnic college offers as many as three full time diploma regular courses. The institute has got an overall approved capacity of 180 students in the three courses offered. There is clearly laid down intake for each course at 60 students to enhance effective delivery with appropriate ratio of students per faculty. Various disciplines of engineering courses are presented in the institute; diploma programs presented to the student include options ranging from technical disciplines.

The admission of students to Hilakandi Polytechnic is done based on their performance but strictly according to standardized methods. Candidates seeking admission must sit and pass the PAT (Polytechnic Admission Test) conducted by the State Council for Technical Education, Assam. This entrance examination is an important channel in the admission process of the institute’s diploma courses. The PAT as a rule, is conducted every year when dates are declared by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam. It is prudent that prospective students follow the official bullets by DTE, Assam for accuracy on examination and admission. None the less, Hilakindi Polytechnic being a fairly young college is trying to adopt itself in achieving the status of frontline technical institute of Assam. By offering practical courses using modern laboratory and equipments, and AICTE standards the institute will produce skillful technicians and engineers to foster the industrial and technological development of the area. It needs to develop more courses in its future prospect and it should improve its infrastructural facilities in its way advanced to become one of key institute in the technical education map of Assam.
