Himalayan Institute of Technology (HIT), Dehradun is one of the premier Institutes in the state of Uttarakhand. The institute was established in 2001 and is recognised by the Government of Uttarakhand. HIT is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The institute is affiliated with Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Pauri Garhwal.
HIT Dehradun offers diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate courses in hotel management, science, commerce, information technology, computer science, management and business administration. The programmes offered by HIT are Diploma in Hotel Management, M.Sc Zoology, BBA, MBA, B.Com, M.Com, B.Sc Information Technology, M.Sc Information Technology, B.Com Hons, B.Sc Biotechnology, M.Sc Chemistry, M.Sc Botany, Bachelor of Hotel Management, M.Sc Soil Science and many others.
Admission to HIT Dehradun UG and PG programmes are done based on candidates merit in the qualfiting examination (For MBA programmes scores of entrance examinations such as CAT/ GMAT/ MAT/ GRE are considered) followed by personal interview. Himalayan Institute of Technology Dehradun also provides scholarships to the students. HIT Dehradun has a placement cell that ensures placements in top business and corporate houses.
HIT Dehradun provides various facilities to its students. The facilities include smart classrooms, well equipped computer labs, library, ultra-modern hotel management labs, agriculture labs, science labs, auditorium, cafeteria, mess, sports, hostels, medical facility and many more. Himalayan Institute of Technology Dehradun provides scholarships to the students. HIT Dehradun scholarships offers 10% to 20% from the tuition fee. Himalayan Institute of Technology scholarships, that depend on the type of programme selected by the students.

The infrastructure is good but not very good, with excellent labs and all facilities like WIFi, classrooms, and library being very good. The college does not provide any hostel facilities: the canteen is good but expensive compared to market prices, and there are no medical facilities

Campus is very small. Toilets are very bad. Canteen is the worst and library is like a small bathroom. Classrooms are good but in the classrooms there was lot of sounds of many things like vehicles and all because this college is on main road and in the centre of city. And also lack of parking

One of the best things here is the hostel facility and services. We get a well-furnished room with lots of storage and enough space for 2 people to coexist. The Wi-Fi connectivity is pretty decent to work on. Also. the classrooms are very soothing and good for a crowd of 100 students.
