Hirakud, Hirakud College was established in 1979 and it is affiliated college situated in Sambalpur Odisha. Occupying 10 acres of land this institution has provided the region with education services for over 40 years. Currently, the college only has two programmes for undergraduate with the college’s total student enrolment is 692 and 22 faculty members. Hence the college lacks any accreditation and ranking but for arts and commerce streams the college provide good education.

Hirakud College currently offers two full-time undergraduate programmes: The under graduate programmes are Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). All these programmes have been approved to admit 96 students, thus increasing the total number of available seats to 192. The duration of both courses is three years with competition and complex knowledge being the hallmark of the programme. Still, as the college central to these two programmes, it shows its concern with the quality of humanities and business studies.
