Established in 1965, HM Patel Institute of English Training and Research is one of the most prestigious educational institutes in Anand, Gujarat. Being an affiliated college, it offers NCTE-approved English language teaching and teacher education. The institution, spread over a small campus of 1 acre, with an enrolment of 100 students with a faculty strength of 5 teachers, allowing it to follow a focused approach toward imparting education. 

HM Patel Institute of English Training and Research comes with many facilities aiming at enriching the learning of the students. A library, well stocked with more than thirty thousand books, audio CDs, video CDs/DVDs, and audio cassettes, makes it rich in resources for academic pursuits. The infrastructure in the IT arena is indeed commendable with 32 computers loaded with special software from MS Office to Hot Potatoes and Globarena Language Software. The institute also works with modern teaching aids such as LCD projectors, OHPs, and a Digital Interactive White Board, to name a few. 

The institute offers only two full-time courses: a two-year B.Ed. for which 100 students are taken in every year, and the other is a six-year program for Ph.D. in English Language Training. Both the programs are designed to cater to the desire of a teacher and simultaneously feel the necessity of contributing to the area of scholarship in the language. 

Admissions shall be made strictly on the basis of merit in various centralised and centralised-based admissions of H.M.
