Hooghly BC Roy Institute, Hooghly, West Bengal, is an institution of immense pride, established in the year 2012. This affiliated college, under the NCTE act, is specifically for teacher education with a compact campus of 3.7 acres. The institute provides an ideal learning environment for prospective teachers. The student enrolment is a total of 97, and the faculty strength is 18; this ensures a very healthy student–teacher ratio, which takes care of the grooming and quality education of the students.

The institute has several facilities on the campus to enhance the learning experience of the students. The library, one of the main centers of academic resources, has separate sections for references and journals. It also offers a spacious reading room that can accommodate 50 students at a time. A well-equipped seminar room with a seating capacity of 200 is available for bigger gatherings and academic events. It also maintains departmental laboratories, which help students learn through practical exposure. In order to keep up with modern demands in education, the institute has set up excellent IT infrastructure. An auditorium and sports facilities are available for extracurricular activities and other events that foster holistic development among students. Of note is that both boys' and girls' hostels are available, helping accommodate students from many diverse regions.

At the moment, Hooghly BC Roy Institute is offering only one major course, namely the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program. The B.Ed. Programme is oriented to equip learners/ students with sufficient skill and knowledge in an attempt to excel in the educational sector for reaping rewarding benefits associated with the education career.

Admission is made strictly on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination at Hooghly BC Roy Institute.
