HIT Hooghly: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Hooghly Institute of Technology, also known as HIT Hooghly, was established in the year of 1951 and is a well-known institute in Chinsurah R S, Hooghly, West Bengal. This affiliated college has been leading aspiring engineers for more than seven decades. This AICTE-approved affiliated college, spread over a campus area of 6 acres, concentrates on an ideal learning environment with only 811 enrolled students. This institute has a dedicated faculty of 28 members working hard to provide personalized attention and quality education. HIT Hooghly, at this point in time, offers four diploma programs in engineering that aim to equip students with not only practical skills but also theoretical knowledge regarding their chosen fields of study.

Another important fact that this institute boasts is the array of facilities provided to students. The boys' hostel, located near Bandel Railway Station, provides comfortable accommodation with modern facilities. There is a well-managed hostel for girls within the campus. The library is a knowledge hub, with a great stock of 20,000 books pertaining to various streams of engineering, journals, and reference books. HIT Hooghly laboratories are well-equipped, reflecting the institution's commitment to practical knowledge. It has specially equipped labs for Data Structures, Programming Practice, Circuit and Networks, Operating Systems, etc. The institution also has very good IT infrastructure, thereby exposing students to recent technologies for their studies.

HIT Hooghly offers four full-time diploma programs in engineering, each with a duration of three years. These programs include a Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The total intake of students in all programs combined is 243. Out of these, 243 seats, the Civil Engineering program has the greatest intake, with an intake of 81 students, and the other three each have 54 seats. This wide array of courses lets students choose their specialty based on interest and inclination. The institute's emphasis on regular, practical study ensures the turn-out of graduates to be perfectly prepared for industrial requirements.
