IGM Teacher’s Training College, an emerging college since 2005, is situated in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Located in Mansarovar, this affiliated college has prepared the future teachers for more than one and a half decades now. It is a NCTE approved institute of teacher education and is mandated to offer programmes in teacher education. IGM Teacher’s Training College is a small institution whose compact campus covers an area of 1.099 acres; the college teaches 195 students enroled at this institution. This college also preserves an ideal student to faculty ration with 15 qualified staff members preparing the future educators.

IGM Teacher’s Training College has a number of facilities that are geared toward helping students improve their learning experience. The Academic Resource Centre of the school could not exist without a library as its core of student learning materials and literature. The college provides sporting amenities that help the student balance physical and academic achievements. The college copes with a modern computer class consisting of twenty high-technology computers to equip students with the knowledge of IT skills necessary for mastering the methods of modern education. Discipline based laboratories serve practical expose, perspective correlation that is inevitable for learning or comprehending practically in various subjects. The college seminar hall which is an excellent design and can accommodate 220 people is primarily used in seminar, guest speaker and student presentations. To assure both physical and social breaks are provided to staff and students, a canteen facility is provided for the campus inhabitants.

At present, IGM Teacher’s Training College has two full time courses it offers to different cadets of teacher training. The course of study for Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) is 100 seat capacity for the students who want to teach at higher secondary levels. For students who intend to teach at the Elementary level, the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) is offered with 50 seats. These two programmes take two academic years to complete and covers effective teaching skills, educational psychology and teaching methods. The total student enrolment of this college is 150, the college keeps its class sizes small in order to maintain the quality of its education programmeds. Such an approach implies that the learning process and the students are unique hence requires student centred approaches towards the learning process to provide the needed and deserved attention to the students.

The process of getting admitted to IGM Teacher’s Training College has been structured in a way that only the best students for the teacher education programmes are admitted. Over 90% students may be admitted on merit, the marks secured in the qualifying examinations being credited in the computation of the aggregate. At times, entrance examination may also be conducted an aspect of this process as stipulated by the Rajasthan state government as well as the affiliated university standards.
