Imayam Institute of Agriculture and Technology at Tiruchirappalli Tamil Nadu is one of the well known educational institution that is specializing in agriculture. It is affiliated college established in 2013 and has now emerged as one of the prominent college in the agri-field in this region. Located in a vast 138.29 acres of campus area this institute provides coursework specialisation with its prime and well-known course B. Sc Agriculture Hons. The current enrolment stands at 464 students and the faculty consists of 17 members which makes the institute maintain a good student teacher ratio hence providing quality education.

The Imayam Institute of Agriculture and Technology has several technologies and facilities that are relatively new so as to increase the productivity of the students. The institution have functional laboratory facilities that offer practical in different areas of agriculture. It has been established as the knowledge center for the budding agriculturists and possesses more than 5050 books on agriculture and related subjects, scientific journals, magazines, and e-books. In order not to compromise student’s comfort, the school hostel is provided for separately for boys and girls, and such facilities as cots for each girl, bookshelf and the RO water plant for water supply are provided for the girls. It also provide care for student’s health with the provision of seats for sports and a gym. 

Imayam Institute of Agriculture and Technology is an institution that has a particular specialisation offering only one main programme, the B.Sc Agricultural Science Honours. This is an undergraduate programme that takes four years and its aim is to offer the students total knowledge and skills in agricultural sciences. This has a total student intake of 363, this is as a result of the effort the management of the institute upholds quality education through small class sizes. In the most recent academic year, the institute recorded a total student enrollment of 464, thus proving that institute is popular and that there is need for students to be producing in agriculture.

The admission of students to Imayam Institute of Agriculture and Technology is done in an open and proficient manner according to the abilities of the learner. Out of 120 students’ admission for the B.Sc Agriculture (Hons) course, 65% of the seats are filled through the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University single window system. About 35% are admitted by the management by following the TNAU eligibility criteria. As per the institute records, majority of the students (99%) hail from the state while the rest students are from other parts of the country thus providing them inter regional diversification.
