IMPACT School of Architecture, Bangalore, (ISAB) which is a specialized architectural tertiary educational institution that started its operations in the year 2013. Being an affiliated college established in Sahakara Nagar South, Bangalore, Karnataka the college has received approval from the Council of Architecture to offer quality education in the course. ISAB is situated in a confined space of 2.5 Acres and is spread across two buildings, and the school has 224 learners enrolled with it. The institute has comparatively a better student-teacher ratio for 22 full-time faculty members to focus and groom the budding architects. ISAB currently offers two comprehensive programmes: This includes Undergraduate programmes and five-year B.Arch and the Postgraduate two-year M.Arch programmes and everything in between.

The facilities for students in the IMPACT School of Architecture include many amenities to ensure that educational goals are met with careful attention to other facets of student achievement. The campus has a separate hostel for boys and girls to support students from different regions and manage a serene living standard. In the context of academy, the institute has a reading hall cum Library with architectural facilities for research work and learning. ICT facilities at ISAB are well developed to support students in their pursuit of knowledge on the best technologies in the architectural practice. For the health of the students, the college offers sports and fitness centre. A part of campus includes laboratory facilities for practicing, an auditorium for holding events and seminars, a cafeteria for students’ meal. Moreover, facilities for transport are available in ISAB in which students use them to commute as they are day scholars most of them.

Complementing the above idea, ISAB does not intend to offer a large number of academic programmes but rather offers two full-time courses in architecture. The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) which is the main programme of this institute has an approved annual capacity of 30 students only. This is a five-year course with the primary goal of producing well grounded and well rounded Architectural professionals. If one wants to concentrate more, then the M.Arch programme is offered and the college can accommodate only 20 students. It is a two-year postgraduate course, which enables students to explore further the study of postgraduate architectural ideas and innovation. ISAB offers 50 total student seats between the two programmes, which helps the school keep its community tight knit so that the students can easily interact with their classmates and teachers.

IMPACT School of Architecture Admission process is selective and qualified applicants admitted based on their performance. For the B.Arch programme the candidates are also required to appear for common entrance exams which are KCET or COMEDK. Also, candidates are required to write National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), depending on their ranking which is derived from their NATA scores. However, for B.Arch admissions management also accepts Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) scores also. These entrance exams are conducted generally during the months of admission to the academic year, while the KCET generally took place in April-May, NATA in April and July and JEE Main in January and April. In the case of the M.Arch programme, neither the specific requirements are outlined, although it is reasonable to assume that metrics of a candidate’s B.Arch completion, as well as an additional entrance test/interview, might be requested. This can clearly be seen from the ISAB programmes of focus and the merit based admission system to ensure that students leaving the institution are well equipped to succeed in the ever changing world of architecture.
